Tim Palmer (* 4. Oktober 1962 in North Shields, Northumberland) ist ein britischer Musikproduzent, Tontechniker und Musiker. Er wurde vor allem für seine Produktionen für Künstler und Rockbands wie Texas, The Mission, Tears for Fears, Robert Plant oder H.I.M. bekannt. Zu den bekanntesten von ihm produzierten Liedern gehören Wasteland von The Mission, I Don't Want a Lover von Texas oder Elemental von Tears for Fears.[1]

Leben und Karriere

Tim Palmer, geboren 1962 in North Shields, begann seine Laufbahn zuerst als Musiker, entwickelte aber in den frühen 1980er Jahren schon bald seine besondere Begabung, erst als Assistent in den Utopia Studios in London, später als unabhängiger Tontechniker durch die Arbeit am Mischpult für diverse internationale Musikgruppen und Solokünstler in Los Angeles.

Seit 1982 zeichnet er als Tontechniker und Musikproduzent für Zahlreiche erfolgreiche Pop und Rock-Albem verantwortlich die hohe Chart-Platzierungen erreichten. Als graue Eminenz war er auch während der 1990er und 2000er Jahre ungebrochen aktiv. So betreute und produzierte er in dieser Zeit als Toningenieur und Produzent zahlreiche Alben von Künstlern und Bands wie Kajagoogoo, The Mighty Lemon Drops, Tin Machine, Gene Loves Jezebel, The House of Love, Ozzy Osbourne, Switchfoot, Kane oder Blue October.

Tim Palmer lebt und arbeitet heute als unabhängiger Produzent, Tontechniker und Musiker mit seiner Frau Nadine Marsh (Heirat 1995), und seinen beiden Töchtern im Vereinigten Königreich.[2]
